"Ride with Balloons" Ride
Start time: 8 AM
Ride Description - This has become a ride I personally look forward to every year! The route will have us starting just off Route 17 in Bealeton along side dozens of hot air balloons (depending on wind direction). The last time we had this ride I could hear the burners from the closest balloons. As we get started the sky is full of balloons, bi-planes and gliders. As we ride along the ground, they are racing to a pole and it really is a unique riding experience.
Distance Options - 23, 37 and 48 mile routes are mapped on a cue sheet available online.
Directions - Leaving Frederickburg take Rt 17N towards Warrenton 21.8 miles. Turn right onto Ritchie Rd. Look for the big grain silos. 0.1 miles turn right into parking lot then immediate left and park in grass on left in front of silo. Please do not block any trucks or doors.
