Tour de Willowmere

The Tour de France starts on the 4th!
Bob Broeking has slightly altered the standard Willowmere 45 mile route to make it a 50 mile route and he plans on doing laps of it from Willowmere park starting at 6:00 AM.. If you would like to come out and ride 1,2 or all three laps with him, he will leave from the park for each lap at approx:
6:00am: 1st Lap
9:30am: 2nd Lap
1:00pm: 3rd Lap
If you are doing multiple laps, you may wish to bring a cooler/ice with food, extra water bottles and hydration to restock between laps, although there are two stores on this route. Bob will be at the park by 5:30 am on Friday. Bob will try and maintain a 17 mph average...
Ride Desription - Ride starting from Willowmere Park in NW Stafford. This ride takes you through much of the FCC Cannonball Century area. Original 45 mile route is marked (different marks from Cannonball) with Dan Henry marks (painted white circle with directional line). There are stores along the routes. Distance options are 25, 33 and 45 miles.Restooms are available at start/end. Terrain is slightly to moderately rolling.
Directions - Travel US 17 North from I-95 4.3 miles. Turn right on Rt 616 Popular Rd. Travel 6.8 miles and turn right on Mountain View Rd (across from old country store). Go 0.6 miles and turn right onto Willowmere Pond Rd. Go 0.1 miles and turn right into park. Proceed straight into large parking lot.
