4th of July Club Ride
Start time: 9:00 AM
Description: Not only will we be celebrating our nation's Independence, we will also be saying goodbye to two long standing club members, Steve and Sandy Jakubowski. Steve will be in his first full week of retirement and the two of them will be packing to retire to Florida. Both have been great supporters of Fredericksburg Cyclists Club and they will be missed! Bruce Nelson has opened his pool to the club and will have a cook out.
Distances: The route will follow the traditional Willowmere Park routes which Steve and Sandy have marked, except the start/finish will be at Bruce's house, just a couple miles into the current route and only a .25 mile off the route in a cul de sac. The courses are marked with Dan Henry marks (painted white circle with directional line) so you don't have to rely solely on cue sheets (click to download). There are stores along the routes. Distance options are 25, 33 and 45 miles. Terrain is slightly to moderately rolling.
Location: Bruce Nelson has graciously opened his pool and grill to our club members to celebrate Independence day and to honor Steve and Sandy Jakubowski before they leave for retirement in Florida. Bruce lives at 215 Harwill Drive, Stafford, VA 22556. It is up the road some from the Willowmere Park in Stafford Virginia. Bruce recommends you plug it in to your GPS or Google Maps for directions.
