the Cannonball Century

Saturday, September 28th, 2019

The sprawling countryside of Stafford and Fauquier counties near Fredericksburg provides the ideal site for a fun, safe day of community bicycling. Secluded woodland roads, ranches and farms form the backdrop for Fredericksburg Cyclist's 19th Annual Cannonball Century. Plan for a longer visit to include historic downtown Fredericksburg with craft & antique shops, unique family-owned restaurants as well as civil war era attractions, recognizing a pivotal time in our Nation's history.

Lost in a cornfield

Registration: Event registration is closed and will open by April 1st. Cost is expected to be $45 through August 15th, $55 through September 16th and $65 onsite "day of", with Performance T-shirts extra.

Start/End Location: Curtis Memorial Park at 58 Jesse Curtis Lane Hartwood, Virginia, northwest of Fredericksburg.

Time: Check-in opens at 7:00 AM and the event closes by 6 PM

Route Distances: 30, 67 and 102 miles

Support: This is one of the few rides hosted by a cycling club, with fine rest stops to equip you along the way followed by a complete post-ride lunch. It has clear cue sheets and road markings with excellent support throughout the ride - so you won't get lost in a cornfield!

Other Activities: Curtis and Willomere parks offer activities for the whole family, including playgrounds, golf, disc-golf, fishing, field activities and hiking. Historic downtown Fredericksburg offers unique dining, breweries, shops and walking tours of buildings from the 18th century. Don't forget to stop by Carl's Frozen Custard on the way into town or one of three area bicycle shops.

Charities: The club donates a portion of the proceeds to a variety of local charities.
