The Double-Double is on the calendarfor September! I am super excited to be leading the Double-Double challenge. I remember the first time I did 2 centuries in one weekend. It was only 6 months after I had started riding a bike about 8 years ago. It was so amazing to achieve this milestone!
I want to assure you that you can do this if you regularly ride your bike. I also want everyone to succeed! I put together a document with basic training tips to help everyone to prepare, which is posted on the calendar listing for the event and I think Chuck will be sending it out in his weekly email.
This type of event is not a speed event. It doesn't matter what your typical average speed is, I am committed to help everyone complete the challenge. The first weekend is the double metric and we will ride from theYMCA. We will do the first metric and come back to the YMCA and re-group, fill water bottles, give everyone a chance to eat something and then set off for the 2nd half.
The next weekend will be a double century starting with the Cannonball pre-ride from Curtis Park on Saturday and then the Capital Trail on Sunday. If you haven't done the Capital Trail before I highly suggest it. It is fairly flat paved dedicated trail from Richmond to Jamestown.
I hope we will have a good group and feel like you have to do all the rides. Join us for one or all of the rides! If you have any questions please ask me.
