As a follow-on to this past weekend's ride, I am going to run another paceline training ride this Saturday 6/4 from Hopewell at 0900. We will leave just after the main group in order to get everyone on the same page for the ride. A goal of this ride is to maintain a smooth and sustained pace line and the plan is to take 30-45 second pulls, road conditions permitting. We want to continue to work on smooth pull throughs when the leader comes off the front to allow them a chance to get back on instead of the next rider increasing the speed rapidly. We also want to continue to focus on the safety of the line and group dynamics. The plan again is to ride the 40 mile Hopewell route with a goal of 18-20mph average pace. While this may seem like a fast pace, in a smooth paceline it is easier to maintain. If you would like to join us and have doubts as to whether or not you will be able to stay with us, contact me and let's talk it over.
