Weather permitting, I am going to do another paceline training ride this Sunday 7/17 from Willowmere at 8am. We will leave just after the main group in order to get everyone on the same page for the ride. A goal of this ride is to maintain a smooth and sustained pace line and the plan is to take 30-45 second pulls, road conditions permitting. The plan is to continue working on smooth pull throughs when the leader comes off the front to allow them a chance to get back on instead of the next rider increasing the speed rapidly. We will also continue to focus on the safety of the line and group dynamics. The plan is to ride the WP 45 route with a goal of 18-20mph average pace. This may seem like a fast pace, but in a smooth paceline it is easier to maintain.
