The Cannonball Century is our club's signature event supporting the broader cycling community, generally held in late September. Following another successful event last year, FCC is actively seeking to fill the main coordinator (event director) role at this time.
Having worked the Cannonball as a Rest Stop host for 2 years and directing the event for six years (with a record of 5-0-1 : 5 wins, 0 losses, 1 cancel :-), Quentin is stepping down to allow new direction and a new coordinator that preferably has no other official role.
As the coordinator, you will be responsible for planning, organizing and overseeing our community event, working with club and community volunteers that know what it takes to make this event successful. It's a great opportunity to build on your communication skills, with exposure to all aspects of the club, including membership, insurance, income & expense tracking. You will have the support of the prior director (me), the Executive Board and seasoned co-coordinators to "learn the ropes" for another fun-filled event.
At this point, nothing is officially set so now is the time to build the Cannonball team. If you or someone you know is interested in this role, please contact Quentin Gilbert at CannonballCentury@gmail.com or a Board member for starters.
