We are going to do another paceline training ride this Saturday 7/30 from Hopewell at 8am. We will leave just after the main group in order to get everyone on the same page for the ride. A goal of this ride is to maintain a smooth and sustained pace line and the plan is to take 30-45 second pulls, road conditions permitting. The plan is to continue working on smooth pull throughs when the leader comes off the front to allow them a chance to get back on instead of the next rider increasing the speed rapidly. We will also continue to focus on the safety of the line and group dynamics. The plan again is to ride the Hopewell (The Justin 40) route with a goal of 19-20mph average pace. This may seem like a fast pace, but in a smooth paceline it is easier to maintain. If you would like to join us and have doubts as to whether or not you will be able to stay with us please get in touch with me.
The bathrooms at Stonewall Jackson death site do not open until 8am, so there are no facilities at the ride start.
