Loving Day Ride

Description: In honor of Loving Day, which commemorates the Supreme Court’s 1967 decision on interracial marriages, we will be doing a 42-mile ride with a stop at St. Stephen’s church in Central Point to visit the Lovings’ graves then heading down Byrd Mill road to historic Newtown, a stop on the Colonial era post road. The return home takes us up Roundabout Road which becomes Mattaponi Trail at the Caroline and King and Queen County lines. On Mattaponi Trail we will pass many historic homes the most important of which is “Green Falls” built in 1711. There are no stores on this route and the Community Center is closed on Sunday. Please plan ahead.
