Saturday YMCA Ride

Location: Spotsylvania YMCA,

Distances: Right on Massaponax Church Rd. (36, 41, 50, 55, and 60 Mile Options); Left on Massaponax Church Rd. (20, 35, 46, 67 Mile Options)

Massaponax Church Ride
Routes are the same as the YMCA routes. The "Stonewall Bridge" routes marked with double white arrows, are 4 miles shorter than indicated on the route sheets.
Routes going west to the courthouse and joining the existing Bistro routes will be four miles longer.

Location: Wegmans 2281 Carl D. Silver Parkway, Fredericksburg, VA 22401
Join the ride leader for a ~20 mile NIGHT ride on bike trails and downtown city streets in Fredericksburg. We will depart from the Wegmans parking lot at 6:30pm sharp. If the temperature is 35 degrees or less at the start of the ride, the ride will be cancelled.
Mandatory equipment includes a functioning headlight (that can light the road commensurate with your speed), a tail light (steady mode, not flashing), and warm cycling clothes. Reflective clothing is also highly recommended. Expect to be cycling until approx. 8:00 pm while the temperature drops throughout ride. The group will stay together and obey all traffic and trail rules.
Intermediate bike handling skills are required and the ability to stay together as a group with an average pace of 16 mph (at night in the city and on trails this is equivalent to about ~18mph on the open road).
Contact the ride leader with questions before the ride. The leader reserves the right to prohibit any rider from participating that does not have the proper equipment or skills.
The bike trail on Fall Hill Ave has been completed, but the maps have not been update to reflect this. We will ride on the bike path and not on Fall Hill Ave.

Name: Celebrate Virginia at Night

Location: 1440 Fitness, 570 Celebrate Virginia Parkway, Fredericksburg, VA 22406
Join the ride leader for a ~18 mile NIGHT ride on quiet streets. We will depart from the parking lot near 1440 Fitness at 570 Celebrate Virginia Parkway, Fredericksburg, VA 22406 at 7:00pm sharp. If the temperature is 35 degrees or less at the start of the ride, the ride will be cancelled. The ride leader will use Weather Channel centered on Fredericksburg to determine the temperature.

Reflective clothing is also highly recommended. The group will stay together and obey all traffic rules. Ride Description - Ride starting from Willowmere Park in NW Stafford. This ride takes you through much of the FCC Cannonball Century area. The courses are marked (different marks from Cannonball) with Dan Henry marks (painted white circle with directional line). There are stores along the routes. Distance options are 25, 33 and 45 miles. Restrooms are available at start/end. Terrain is slightly to moderately rolling. Click here for Cue Sheets
If riders wish to do the 50 mile ride from the Tour de Willowmere, that route is also available.
Directions - Travel US 17 North from I-95 4.3 miles. Turn right on Rt 616 Popular Rd. Travel 6.8 miles and turn right on Mountain View Rd (across from old country store). Go 0.6 miles and turn right onto Willowmere Pond Rd. Go 0.1 miles and turn right into park. Proceed straight into large parking lot.

Winter Banquet - The FCC Winter Banquet is set for Sunday, January 26th from 4 to 7:30 p.m. We will have a special speaker, a great dinner and awards. Non-alcoholic beverages will be provided and there will be a cash bar.
We will also be electing club officers. We are accepting nominations. If members would like to nominate or be considered as a club officer, please contact Dave Burkett
Meal options will be crab stuffed salmon, chicken cordon bleu and Prime Rib. If you or you guests would like a vegetarian plate, please send an e-mail to Dave Burkett (firstname.lastname@example.org) and let him know by January 17th how many vegetarian plates you will need.
The deadline for registration is noon January 17th. And please, as usual...No Walk-Ins! We ask that each member and guest pay $22.50 for the evening. The rest of the cost will be paid by the club.
