The primary purpose of this is to ride is to check the proposed route for this year’s Cannonball Century. The new route removes Brent Town Rd and Poplar Rd from the current route. The goal is to ensure this is a safe route and for navigational hazards along the route.
The link below has all three routes; 32, 63 and 100 miles.
The current route markings are still visible, but do not follow them because they will take you on the original routes. Make sure you download the route and/or print cue sheets.

Haymarket – Middleburg Gravel Ride
Start time: 7:30 AM
Start Location: Starbucks, 6422 Trading Square, Haymarket, VA 20169
Come join us for a different type of ride experience – gravel! We will start in Haymarket and work our way to a rest stop in Middleburg, enjoying lightly trafficked back roads.
There are two routes available. The 73 mile route (approx. 35.8 miles of gravel) and the 55 mile route (approx. 22.8 miles of gravel). The routes have been updated with the gravel sections marked in blue.
For those new to gravel, please be aware:
1. Due to the amount of paved roads, a hybrid, cross or road bike with appropriate tires is recommended.
2. While it is possible to do this ride on normal 25c road tires, larger tires - 28c and above - are recommended. 25c tires tend to flat more than 28c tires.
3. Most gravel roads have few cars but use caution because the roads are narrower and cyclists are not expected.
4. Please download the route and/or print cue sheets
